My husband and I went to UF to visit our nieces (a senior and a freshman) and our good friend, a professor at UF. We decided to take the young ladies out to dinner and Cintron came recommended by another restaurant owner (whose eatery was closed for vacation) and my friend the professor. It's a little difficult to find because it's housed in a strip mall with an unusual configuration. You have to be sure to venture into the heart of the square to locate the place. Once you do, you will find that it has inside dining for about a dozen or so, and outside seating for double that amount. Cintron touts a "Floribbean" theme sporting decor and meals with a Caribbean flavor. We had the Duck-Filled Tostones appetizer and the Yuca-Crusted Calamari Frito. Both were very good, but the the duck tostones were the favorite at the table. (Even if a tad salty.) My husband had the Tacos Barrachos. I had the Cuban Dip, and the young ladies had Prime Beef Burgers. Both ordered them medium but they came medium well and bit more overdone than they would have liked. The fries that accompanied those meals were crispy and tasty. The yuca fries that came along with the Cuban dip were addictive. I honestly loved them more than my sandwich (a bit too salty) and could have eaten a plate full and nothing else. The fish tacos and their special sauce were good. (When I asked for malt vinaigrette for my fish taco, the server had no clue what it was.) The prices are not cheap, but they are on par for the food offerings. Dinner for 4 with 2 appetizers and 1 alcoholic drink, tax, and tip was $136. I would definitely go back and get the duck tostones (maybe as a meal) and a plate full of yuca fries. Tip to management: A couple of meats (duck, beef) were a bit too salty. It is better to add less salt. The diner can add more, but they can't remove salt when there is too much on the meat.

If you go here please sit on the patio. It's a very nice set up outside. The food was good, I wouldn't say amazing. The restaurant itself is kinda hard to find it's in the back of a plaza and your maps won't take you there directly. We had a fishbowl drink and had the waiter split it up into 5 glasses it was very good and strong.

Hidden away in a lovely shopping plaza in Gainesville. We decided this is our lunch spot today with our dog. Since it was 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the patio was quite empty, but it was a beautiful crisp winter day, sun streaming, in plenty of places to sit . We started with the Peruvian eggrolls. Most delicious my must try. Quesadilla, fish, tacos, Tostones , along with a Cuban dip sandwich. Our server Sam was excellent. The food was beyond delicious, fresh, hot and so beautifully presented. Most enjoyable food, great service, beautiful patio to sit on and please don't leave without getting yourself a strong cup of Cuban coffee.

Amazing food at very reasonable prices. They have a large selection of vegetarian options and the parking is great. I had the Brussels brava and sautéed spinach which were both delicious. The portions are so large I had to take some food home. The restaurant has a nice decor and is not noisy. The service was great and I look forward to coming back to try more of their menu.

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night after loving their other restaurant Nopal. We sat outside and it was so pleasant out and I really enjoyed the outdoor dining. Our waiter was great and informative. They do not have gluten free options marked on the menu, but he easily let me know what was GF or what could be modified. I was sad that they only had flour tortillas as their tacos sounded really good. I went with one of the salad bowls that came with ancho chicken, brussel sprouts, pumpkin seeds, avocado, queso fresca, and corn. It was delicious and fresh but my chicken was very overcooked which was disappointing. However everything else was good and the service was great.

I met a friend here for dinner and a drink. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the nice weather and sounds of the water fountain. We both ordered a glass of rosé which was great! I ordered the salmon and my friend ordered the kale salad (but made it vegetarian). We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries and yucca fries. I thought both were good, but the sweet potato fries were superior! Service was great and I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The inside was also nice and upscale looking, but because the weather was nice, we opted for eating outside. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the mill hopper area and looking for more higher end food.
